Mary Ellen McCarthy

Irish. Feisty. And really kind of ugly. As long as her kids are happy, she doesn’t care which jail they end up in. And she knows the perverts are out there, ogling her, desiring her… She just can’t seem to find them.

Fitzy

A once promising athlete, he could always be seen Sunday mornings on a baseball field, passed out. Fitzy works for the parks department and is an opinionated townie who might know nothing, but he knows more than you. Considers himself a street philosopher. “The only difference is I don’t have one of them fancy offices on Wall Street.” Also, he might not know what a philosopher is.

Jimmy Yanell

Lives at the Y. Cooks on a hotplate. All he ever wanted to do was be the “broom man” and sweep the streets. (But not on a Mondee or a Tuesdee.) Has no opinions, no goals. He loves to lean on his broom when he’s not sweeping.

Marshall Mellow

Activist, cyclist, pain-in-the-ass-ist. Has signed every petition known to man. Including a petition to stop petitions. Latest cause; a program aimed at getting birds to share their nests. “There’s like, so many pigeons living in the streets, like why can’t a sparrow just make some more room.”
